December has hit with full force. This winter storm has settled in the valley and delivered a late but strong layer of snow in Salt Lake City. It’s finally the holiday season. I hope you are ready for a great December. There are a lot of activities to go to. In fact I was scrolling through some of them on this website (http://tinyurl.com/n5okshv) for several minutes and realized that there were several hundred more. I picked out a few interesting events just to give you a start on holiday activities.

The Powder Awards. Would you like to spend the evening with a group of amazing skiers? The Powder Awards holds several different competitions for skiers and will be awarding the winners in Salt Lake City on Friday, December 6th at the Depot. The cost of admission is a $12 donation to the Wasatch Backcountry Rescue. Go watch some films and mingle with the best of the best.

On December 13th and 14th the International Luge Federation is expecting 20 nations and 120 athletes to participate in the Luge World Cup. Lucky for us, this will be happening in Salt Lake. What’s cooler than watching people sled at dangerously high speeds? Well not much. And to top it all off, admission is free. The event will be held at the Olympic Legacy Park.

Elf the musical is being performed by the Pioneer theatre company. Go enjoy one of your favorite Christmas movies in a musical form. The show will take place every night from the 6th to 24th at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre at the University of Utah.

Nothing says Christmas like going to see the Zoolights. You can see your favorite animals and all the Christmas lights you can handle. Bring the kids and walk around the Zoo for a night to remember.

There is never a dull moment during the holidays. With a little searching you can find something for any audience. We hope you find something fun to do and make the most of this season in Salt Lake City.
