The Countdown to Turkey Day

As the holiday season begins to ramp up, here are some great hacks to help you through the madness.

Online Shopping

Skip the lines, shop online. In the past four years, online shopping–commonly known as eCommerce–has grown immensely. One trillion dollars to be exact (1,000,000,000–just in case you forgot how many zeros are in one trillion).

The reasons for this growth vary widely but can be summed up by simply asking the question, who wouldn’t want the ability to buy from the comfort of your home and have it directly shipped to your home at a comparable price to what you’d get at the store?

Plan Your Meals BEFORE You Buy

Marketers are very good at what they do and during the holidays, stores become a death trap. If you go to the store to buy Thanksgiving dinner but don’t know what you want, you’ll end up buying far more food than you could ever eat and really want.

Buy In Advance

Don’t procrastinate until it’s too late. Buy foods early to get better prices and to avoid the dreadful lines at the checkout.

This is more difficult to do with the preparation checklist swirling inside your head. But you won’t regret taking a few minutes out of your busy day to prioritize your list and get everything prepped before you start getting everything ready.

Take Care of the Details Before the Rush

Similar to buying things in advance, take care of the small details before the turkey is in the oven. Ask yourself questions like, do I have napkins? or did I tell my friends/family/guests what time everything starts? It’s the little things that start to stack up quick. So take care of them now so that next week everything goes as smoothly as possible.
