SEO, also known as Search Engine Optimization, is something that we as a marketing firm mention quite often. We mention it in regards to all that we do here as a company. You may be wondering then… What exactly is SEO?
SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of your website under a search engine’s unpaid or paid search results. This is important, and very effective because the higher your website is on the search engine, is strongly correlated to the number of visitors that will view your website. These visitors then turn into potential customers, and then upon entering your website have the opportunity to become consumers of your product.
The paragraph above compromises the goal of what SEO strives to accomplish. Once we understand the concept of visibility, the next step of explaining SEO is… how does that happen? Here is how it works; search engines use formulas (called algorithms) to determine where a site ranks on the search engine.
To optimize where you appear in their search it is important to make sure that your site is run and designed correctly (this is where marketing services such as Innovation Simple come into play). Here are two example of things that a marketing company would do to help your SEO.
1. Identify keywords (specific words that relate to your business) that can be used on your website, and a blog that will increase your match to common search phrases
2. Provide unique content such as blogs, social media posts, and website information to make sure that you are not suffering from duplicate content. Search engines scan for duplicates, and if a page is a duplicate of another page, that page is often removed from the search and your site may be penalized.
This is only a scratch of the surface, but hopefully your knowledge of what SEO is can help you understand a little bit more about the business we do here at Innovation Simple, and how it could help you.
