Marketing With YouTube
Youtube has been around for a decade now and it is easily one of the most popular websites on the planet. If you have not put this tool to use in marketing your business then you are missing out. You can start using YouTube now. Below are four simple ways to help you get the most out of marketing with YouTube.
1. Use the Descriptions Section
YouTube was acquired by Google in 2006 for $1.65 billion. Yes, that is billion with a “b.” Google knew how great of a marketing tool it would be back then and now that YouTube is integrated with Google, videos are very searchable in Google’s search engine. So make sure you fill up every empty text box available when posting a video: title, tags, description, category, etc. Also, give people links to everything you have, especially your main website. Put them in the description and make them clickable at the end of your video as well. This will drive even more traffic to all your online content.
2. Tell A Story
The ability to use pictures and sound together in a way that is very accessible to your target audience is a golden opportunity. Storytelling and data visualization are huge trends in marketing right now. Think of what your brand is, what you stand for, and be willing to get personal wiith your videos. More than ever, people don’t just want products or services, they want to be part of a brand experience. Creating a series of videos that tells your brand’s story is a great way to give them the experience they crave.
3. Highlight Your Fans or Clients
Word of mouth and referrals have always been and still are one of the best ways to market anything. Nothing gets people talking more than an opportunity to be put in the spotlight or to know that they are receiving public attention. Some ways to really engage with customers are to let some of your biggest fans be in your videos, to create videos that respond to people’s questions, or to let people post their own video responses to your product, good and bad. Videos of real people praising your product or service can be as good as gold. Even the videos of people who don’t like what you offer can give you a real look into how you could improve or change for the better. Don’t be afraid of criticism. The ability to listen to your target market is paramount to creating the best product or service, and the best brand experience for the them.
4. Maximize Your YouTube Use
Finally, do not try to use YouTube only halfway. If you are going to try and market on YouTube, put everything you can into it. With the available software and programs we have now, creating and making quality video content is easier and faster than ever.
