Google is continuing to better improve the way they do real time search and that is why the social media has been a factor with real time search. Google has integrated a real time sports search and it looks like it might be pulling from some xml feed.

Real time search looks like it will be the wave of the future as search engines continually improve the way they pull information and data along with the way they display the data in the search results.
