  1. Generate good, engaging content.

Now, you may be saying, “Well, that’s easier said than done…” but it really isn’t that difficult. Make sure that each post you write has a story to tell. People are more likely to click on something that is interesting and relates a story they can connect with. If your content is not worth their time, people will ignore it and ignore your business’s Facebook page all together. So, moral of the story is: write good, interesting content. If you aren’t confident in your ability to write this sort of content, don’t be afraid to invest in an employee or two who have exceptional writing abilities and can help you with this important process.

  1. Be consistent in posting

People will realize pretty quickly if your page is active or dormant. In fact, not only will people realize this but Facebook’s news feed algorithm also can tell if people are looking at your content or not and will show it to more people or less people depending on it. So, if you are looking to build your page likes, you have to be consistent in posting. That being the case, you have to find that sweet spot of posting too much or not enough. Nobody wants to be spammed, so start with posting every two days. Just keep an eye on the insights and learn from them, which leads us to our last point.

  1. Use the analytics to see what works

The cool thing about Facebook is it tracks your posts success rates and lets you see what posts have better reach than others. Make sure you always look at what types of posts are able to generate more likes, views, and shares than others. Try and decide what factors made those posts better than the rest, and then do your best to create more content that reflects those same traits. Not all of your posts will be hugely successful, so don’t abandon all hope if some posts don’t reach as many people as you would have hoped.
