Be Creative

You are a creator. You can create positive change within your company.

No matter where your work space is – the corner office, a cubicle or the supply closet – you’re still a creator.

You may not be a traditional artist but you’re creative and therefore a creator. Your job is to inspire people and help them change their behavior. Sounds creative to me.

But as a creator you need inspiration. Inspiration so powerful that you don’t need an alarm clock because you’re so excited to start your day that you jump out of bed to get working.

All of the best artists and creators certainly got their inspiration from somewhere. Here are a few ideas on where and how to get your inspiration:

Work Around Passionate People

Working with passionate people isn’t the norm unfortunately – it’s a luxury. I become immediately inspired when I’m surrounded by people who love what they do. On the other side of the fence are those who are easily provoked, bored and make doing my job difficult.

Get Up Early

My best days are the days when I’ve get out of bed early, go to the gym, have a good breakfast and begin working before everyone else. I like the feeling of getting a jump start and doing important things before my work day even starts.

Be Scared to Fail

I don’t want to be poor, therefore failure isn’t really an option for me. I want to succeed because I have some fear of poverty. It may seem like I’m not really a creator or artist because I let money motivate me, but if it helps me do my job well then let it be.

As you’re inspired to do great work, you’ll find that you create things that leave a lasting impression. Do your best work and leave a legacy. Now get started by getting inspired. What inspires you to do your best work?
