A Few Important Tips

So you’ve decided that you want to start a blog on your business’ website? That’s great! Now it’s crucial that you focus on being consistent and writing great content.

As I mentioned previously, it is crucial that you are consistent. Choose whether you’ll blog daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc. and then stick to your routine! I like

to keep a recurring calendar event on my calendar to make sure that I always remember to stick to my blogging schedule (every Thursday).

Once again, pick a schedule that works for you but I’d recommend blogging at least every two weeks and maybe more frequently as your website traffic increases.

Make every blog post a great one. Writing a blog post more than 1,000 words is great but if you’re consistently writing blog posts in the 200 – 300 range that’s great too. No matter who reads it, we know that Google will read it so make sure it has a lot of thoughtful content. And don’t forget to watch for comments – you’ll want to respond to comments quickly.

I like to write articles that:

  • Are informative

  • Include lists

  • Mention industry news

  • Highlight office culture and behind the scenes news

  • Promote business services and products
